Laverne & Shirley! Yes we grew. By two.
2 parents, 2 kids, 2 cats, and now 2 dogs.
2 girl black labrador retriever puppies. Yes, they have that puppy smell.
Red collar, Laverne. Turquoise collar, Shirley. Sisters.
We really did name them Laverne & Shirley. Why? Well, because that's funny. And they are classic trouble makers and fun friends, and I'm sure our girls will be too. SO...
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

We're gonna do it!
Give us any chance, we'll take it.
Give us any rule, we'll break it.
We're gonna make our dreams come true.
Doin' it our way.
Nothin's gonna turn us back now,
Straight ahead and on the track now.
We're gonna make our dreams come true,
Doin' it our way. There is nothing we won't try,
Never heard the word impossible.
This time there's no stopping us.
We're gonna do it.
On your mark, get set, and go now,
Got a dream and we just know now,
We're gonna make our dream come true.
And we'll do it our way, yes our way.
Make all our dreams come true,
And do it our way, yes our way,
Make all our dreams come true
For me and you.

Sing it! It's gonna be in your head ALL gosh darn day now. I speak from experience.
It took a long time for me to consider getting another dog after the loss of our Phoebe (yes, a black lab) last summer.
Isn't she lovely? I wish the quality of these pictures were better. They are pre-digital photog. She was the best.
The girls have been begging for months. And honestly? So has my husband, silently. They have all been waiting on me. I decided to start considering it. I looked at a lot of lab rescue organizations, but unfortunately all the ones close by didn't have good fits for families with kids.
So, early last Saturday, we drove to Missouri. Yep, Missouri. Isn't that where everyone goes to get a dog? And found ourselves with new family members.
First stop, somewhere in Arkansas, for pet supplies. "Just in case" we decided to bring
Dog Crate.

Donuts. Wait, donuts? Yes, a girl's gotta eat. And it is Shipleys. Enough. Said. (they were actually just being built, but we tried) I would totally drive 2 hours to get Shipleys.
So, 4 hourse from Memphis we are on a farm and at Misty Woods Labradors in Alton, Missouri.
We got to meet their mom (black) and dad (yellow) and some of their siblings. They were in a litter of 11! Poor momma!
And we had 2 new babies.
They got baths and we were off.
They slept the whole way home.
Then the best part, surprising the girls. The human girls. The look on this child's face, and the literal flying through the air to get to them was priceless.
And the sweet puppy snugglin.
Once we were home, I realized I forgot about all the baby stuff. Kinda like with people babies.
They don't sleep through the night.
They have to be potty trained.
You can't leave them for long.
3 meals a day.
New toys to fight over.
Yall, this toy is called "Happy Moppy" I kinda love that.
It also means, you have to figure out this whole situation...
This is a work in progress. But they all hang in the same room together so I'll take that as a success! For now, the cats are bigger. Now's their chance to be top dog :) They need to show them who's boss. Plus they don't have claws. Because these puppies, they are gonna grow. A. Lot.
Belly Rubbins.
We are doing all the things new parents do. But no one offered to bring us meals or throw us a shower. Rude.
Going for walks, learning about the leash.
And taking 1.4 million pictures.
I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of these two, today is puppy photo shoot day. I'm just know it's going to be a piece of cake...
